In the same week as the dump the pump initiative came a nice little side warning from the Petrol purveyors said with a dead pan face .

It went along the lines that current pumps can only display two digit prices i.e. 99.9p per litre prices and they would all need to be expensively changed when Fuel ran over a pound a litre.

So yes we can all understand that if the display doesn't have three digits you will have to change the display to rectify it so what.

Why did they bother to tell us this stupid little gem. The only reason can possibly be that plans are already in hand for pound a litre prices.

Yes  £4.54  a gallon  ( sounds much worse in gallons than litres doesn't it) is just around the corner, and once the psychological barrier of 100p a litre is broken there will be no stopping it.

For all you motorists out there the time to wake up is now, ask yourself why you get economy figures in gallons and yet buy fuel in litres, its because it sounds cheaper because most of us cant be bothered to work it out. (my self included).

Unless you think £5.00 a gallon is reasonable take action now join the dump the pump movement, and stick up two digits of your own.
