Electric folding mirrors are a recent addition to modern car specifications.
Basically when operated by an interior switch the exterior mirrors fold inwards to narrow the car enabling you to squeeze into them very small garages that house builders insist on making nowadays.
The folding mirror is common now on some people carriers 4x4's and executive saloons.
Below is the Jaguars electric folding, colour coded, electric positioned and heated mirror. Very much a feature in itself but it is still just a rear view mirror.
