Rear Load Cover

Load covers are basically used as a security device.

I.E. they stop unwanted people looking into the booted area of your car.

However nearly all load covers are not load bearing and cannot be loaded as they will collapse.

Unless they are of the type like the Citroen Xantia or XM which have a hard part parcel shelf with a retractable cover.

Citroen XM one of the best sized boots in the market. Citroen XM with the parcel shelf in position and the load cover retracted.

Some covers are auto retracting and some are fitted on sliding runners which are manually placed for convenience.

All are almost a must when using an estate car which they are mainly fitted to.

However 4x4's and people carriers are now commonly fitted with them as standard.
