Most makers have their sports coupes saloons and hatches but they all have variable definitions of the sports seating.
Do you remember the Recaro seats in the early Cavaliers and Opel
manta.
The sport seat makers did very well at this time but not all makers opted for a
designer seat. This has resulted in variants of seating with a myriad
styles and fabrics.
The general purpose for a sports seat is to support the driver whilst haring around bends. Helping to keep an upright position to enhance driver control, and maintain minimum body movement. Well I hear you say that you don't often fall out of your driving seat but! good side support and leg containment do assist very much when driving to your cars optimum performance and handling.
