What, is that British Imperial Miles Per Hour? Good lord, man, my '98
Plymouth Neon Expresso 2.0 DOHC 5speed coupe (you know, the black one
with the spoiler and the tinted windows) does it in just under 7.5
seconds stock, and my friend's base SOHC-automatic does it in a tic over
8.5. Handling? I don't know what they're shipping across the pond,
but
the Neon over here predominantly rules the SCCA (Sports Car Club of
America) racing in it's classes. Very responsive handling, particularly
compared to a Honda, Toyota, or even one of those god-awful Ford
Focusses (Focci?).
Did you perhaps leave the parking brake on?

Editors Notes : The specs for the UK version of the Chrysler Neon that we have are correct, or maybe your US miles are a bit smaller than ours
**Note** The last bit was sarcasm, so don't write in to correct us!
P.S. That's a rather nifty acronym you have there

Hi,
I suspect the Neon was tweaked for the UK market, since our roads are decidedly
lumpy and bumpy the suspension and handling was probably made softer than US
spec, and since petrol costs too much here, the engine was probably de-tuned to
give better MPG's.
Having said that, mine (1996 2.0LE) is wonderful compared to the Euro-boxes
around at the moment.
