Just bought a 1997 618. What a nightmare. 20000 miles on the clock full history and impossible to drive around town at 30 - 40 mph due to constant chugging. Back to main dealer, all tested ok. But its not, drives like a lemon, wife's fallen out with me over it.A well only another 4 years until its paid. Perhaps I'll try my friendly local garage to get the damn thing running 100%.                                                          

 Anyway great reading in your report. Oh how I wish I had bought the damn diesel instead!
