I enjoyed reading the road test on the 9000 ........funny old world isn't it, I love the looks of the 9000 and wouldn't want a 900 at any cost !!.....still that's what makes us all individuals! thought your evaluation was accurate. I have a 9000 Carlsson 2.3 turbo......and I love it! quick enough for most mortals, quiet, luxurious and currently returning in excess of 30mpg ! the Carlsson has lower and stiffer suspension than the other variants and can be a bit of a bone shaker if road surfaces aren't quite what they should be, but that aside the car is awesome. Keep your Bavarian boxes thanks....this is one serious Swedish motor car!

I agree with the previous letter regarding "Bavarian Boxes". I have owned
and driven many different BMW models. In comparison to the SAAB, they are
bland, boring and euro-cloned. SAAB offer something that BMW will never
have, sheer character and presence.
Give me a SAAB any day of the week.

I just read your article on the 9000. i had a 9000 2.3 lpt four years ago and it had 99000 on it when i got it and 126000 when i sold it to a mate 3 years ago. i loved it. i am driving a 2.4 140bhp V70 at the moment which is nice enough, but the good news is i am picking up a 9000 cs aero manual on monday 19th august. it's a 1994 model, one owner, main dealer serviced with 66k miles. i can't bloody wait! i thought you might like to know.
